Why Did JWed Change from "Messages" to "Chats?"

JWed has enhanced the member communications experience with the new “Chats” interface.

“Chats” on the website and the JWed App, now includes all communications between members.

WHY DID JWED DO THIS?

JWed consistently invests to optimize our members' experience.

While we acknowledge change can naturally bring some initial member concerns, we know the new system will prove far more powerful, far easier to use and result in far more communications between members - which means even more matches!

In addition, given the growth in numbers of JWed members and the ever-increasing number of member communications, the existing “Messaging” interface did not suffice and JWed had to be proactive in replacing with a system much more robust and user-friendly.

Lastly and importantly, through the "Chats" interface, the JWed website and the JWed App are now fully synchronized, enabling cross-platform usage by members simple and easy.

WHAT THIS MEANS IN WHAT YOU SEE

  • On JWed.com, user will no longer see the heading “Messages” but “Chats”
  • On the JWed Match App, user will no longer see the headings of “Messages” and “Chats” but just “Chats”

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOUR USER EXPERIENCE 

The interface is very simple and looks and feels like Instant Messaging. To be clear however, all messages between members are still sent through JWed's safe, private and controlled internal environment.

The new interface makes it much easier to communicate with members across platforms, whether on website or App.

EARLIER ERRORS WITH “CHATS” UPGRADE THAT HAVE SINCE BEEN RESOLVED

  •  For some members the “Chat” counter made false notifications about new messages, when in fact these were just old migrated messages that user had never answered.
  • Some members initially experienced a few seconds delay in screen loading with all their messages

ENHANCEMENTS TO BE ADDED

  • Video is being added
  • Ability to Search Chats alphabetically and by date
  • Wider screen interface for website users
